Amertrol 1038 is a scale and corrosion inhibitor. It is a blend of phosphates, polymers, sequestrants and an antifoam. The phosphate prevents deposition of calcium hardness on the heat transfer surfaces while the sequestrants form stable complexes with constituents which act as binders for normal water sludge. The polymers prevent suspended solids from adhering to internal boiler surfaces. The additional antifoam effectively suppresses boiler water carry over to the steam line.
