Clax Proof Care is an effective waterproofing liquid based on wax. This product has been developed as finishing agent for articles made of synthetic and mixed fibres, such as water repellent theatre linen, raincoats, sportswear and protective clothing without altering their breathability properties.. After treatment, penetration of water based soil into fibres will be severely limited and consequently soil can be easily wiped off or rinsed off. Clax Proof Care can either be applied via a normal wash process or by using a 2-step spray-on method.

Dosing level is dependent on wash classification.

Applied via normal wash process: Recommended dosage in last rinse with water level of 1:4 is given below. The impregnation time should be 5 - 7 minutes.

• Single finish (once off) process: 40 g/kg dry goods
• Finish applied after every wash: 10ml/kg dry goods.

When this dosage is applied (10ml/kg) Clax Neutrapur is needed to stabilize the impregnation solution. Make sure that the pH is between 3.3-5.5 . A dosage of 3ml/kg of Clax Neutrapur should be sufficient enough. It's recommended to run a cleaning program once a week at high temperature (15 min. 90°C). Please note that the articles should be tumble dried at a temperature of at least 140°C for 25 minutes. Special caution needs to be taken with textile covers from chairs to ensure they do not shrink. Minimal mechanical action can be achieved by reducing the rotation frequency. One rinse with spin is in principle enough and drying needs to be done with care. The water resistance can also be improved by adding 2 ml/kg Clax Proof Integral in the first rinse cycle.

Applied via spray on method (e.g. for chairs with textile covers that cannot be removed):

• Prepare 1:4 dilution with water to obtain sufficient volume and apply in 2 steps.
• Use 25–30 g/kg dry goods.
• Spray the liquid evenly and extremely thinly over the textile and use a spray distance of 15 to 20 cm.
• Do not wet the textile and allow it to dry well.

Repeat the application when the textile cover is dry again for a better result. A microfiber cloth can help to distribute the solution evenly on to the fabric . You can test the result of the impregnation by dropping some water droplets on the textile cover. If the water droplets roll of the surface, the impregnation is OK; if not, please apply another layer. If it is possible to dry the textile in a room with a higher temperature, this will increase the water repellency. This dosage is according to optimal conditions, recommendations may vary, please consult with your Diversey representative for direction.
